And into Autumn....

Image
I blinked a few times, flew to Ireland and back, had the odd adventure en route and there you have it: wind, rain, falling leaves... We're slowly slipping into Autumn. Time for hot chocolate, soup and spinning. But not before a short recap of the spinning Summer! I did continue with the Tour de Fleece while we were on holiday in Ireland. Spinning on the beach: yes, it can be done! It does get you some weird looks, but also lots of admiring smiles. It didn't go very fast though... Dough Dough Culdaff   Malin Malin Derry Peace Bridge Derry Peace Garden Derry Craft Village (not me, these were the girls from Knitfield) Portrush Lisburn   Malin I even managed to get some fibre-related visits in. How can you go to Ireland/Northern Ireland and nót see any linen or flax? The Linen Museum in Lisburn didn't disappoint. Bijoux, but very complete. The big weaving looms were impressive! Staff was on hand to explain all ab...

We're back! / We zijn terug!

We're back from 2 glorious weeks in Drenthe. The weather was great, there was lots to do and we got some relaxing done as well! It was great to come back home though, and how we appreciate our own bed, bathroom, dishwasher and washing machine... And of course, the allotment greeted us with great spoils, which meant our bike-car was filled to the brim with apples (which I should have picked before we left), courgettes, the last of the broad beans, peas, pak-choi and the first blackberries. There's plenty of work for us the coming week, such as weed, weed, weed...

Knitting for my amusement

Me at Attractiepark Slagharen, with the big rollercoaster in the background. I am too chicken to go on it, but I was very willing to pose in front of it with my (still very small) blankie...

News from our local hotspot

Image
I love KPN. Not only because they gave us a hotspot in our holiday home, but also for only charging us for 15 minutes since last Friday. Hahahahhaa... I can honestly say, we have NOT just been on the Internet for 15 minutes, it's closer to 150! Anyway, ssshhhh.... This is my view at the moment: And here is where I am, behind my laptop: Today we were at a petting zoo/playground, and they were selling eggs, lambs (yes, real ones) and wool. Of course, I had to take a peak. So, here I am, knitting in an odd place (on an old tractor), with a bag of Schoonebeeker wool at my feet (unfortunately, it did not make it onto the photo... I am sure I will find a cool purpose for it. There must be an SnB-colleague who is willing to share tips on cleaning, spinning etc... or it may even be a cool SnB project! Everybody get your spindles out!). Back to my knitting!!!
