Shrug done / Shrug is klaar

Thanks for the comments ;) I also use alufoil to keep snails away, the only disadvantage is that it doesn't make the garden any prettier... But as it's for the greater good, I'll get out my roll of shiny foil in a minute... Yesterday I also took some pictures of my shrug. I finished it a few days ago, but the camera, with all the Austria pictures on it, had disappeared to the attic while Steve was downloading these. Without furter ado... my shrug. It's super light and super warm, odd that something so open and airy can warm you up so nicely... Gisteren heb ik ook wat foto's van mijn shrug gemaakt. Ik had hem een paar dagen geleden al af, maar de camera, met de foto's van Oostenrijk erop, was naar zolder verdwe...

War on the snail / Oorlog tegen de slakken

Oooooh, how I hate snails... I am totally for nature, for eco, for green, for everything nice and fluffy and colourful and cute... but snails... They're the bane of my existence in the garden. On my inspection round tonight (it had been a few days, we were away to Austria this weekend and I spent Monday and yesterday catching up with work), I noticed that MY GOOSEBERRY BUSH HAS NO LEAVES. NONE ALL GONE the little shites... And they had started munching on my lavatera and had already eaten away a few smaller plants. Craps. Tomorrow we will be working in the garden and I will see to it that each and every one of the little bastards will be sent to a place where they can no longer attack my precious plants. And necessary action will be taken to avoid more plants being attacked. But I do wonder if my gooseberry is going to survive... Would talking to it help? Oooooh, wat heb ik toch een hekel aan slakken... Ik ben helemaal voor natuur, voor eco, voor groen, voor alles wat mooi en donzi...

Ode to the Queen Bea / Ode aan de Bea-tas

After a day of crocheting and some sewing, I present to you my Queen Bea bag! Na een dag haken en wat naaien presenteer ik hierbij mijn Koningin Bea-tas! In true crazy yarn style, copied from a fellow SnB'er (DutchAstrid on Ravelry), I rolled up three balls with mainly greens, blues and whites, with some red and orange thrown in here and there. These I crocheted up on Queen's Day into a big shoulder bag. For a lining I used some Ikea fabric I still had over from the bunting I made for wee H's birthday. I added a little pocket for my mobile phone (so no more complaining from big S about never being able to find it in my bag when it rings and he needs to pick it up for me) and a loop for my keys. Wee H loved it so much, that she wants one too. Obviously not as big as mine, but I have already started one for her, in Fabel sock yarn. I was going to use it as my swimming pool project, but it turns out that I have to hurry if I want to get it finished before she gets her B d...
